- Day 1 :MirissaOn arrive in Sri Lanka, you will be welcomed and assisted by a representative and you will be then transferred to your hotel in Mirissa (Apo 03 Hours’ Drive/180km)
MirissaThe sea off the South coast from Dondra Head is one of the best places in the world to see Blue Whales and Sperm Whales. The continental shelf is at its narrowest near Dondra Head, the southernmost point in Sri Lanka. As a result both Sperm and Blue Whales can be seen relatively close to shore. November to April are good months in which to observe whales. There is a theory that the numbers may be higher in November and April because of a migration of whales passing by during those months Mirissa is a beautiful small and rocky beach which is calm, relaxing and almost private. Whales, Deep Sea Fishing, River Trips, Snorkeling and Bird watching are activities you could do while you travel in mirissa srilanka. These days much of tourist specially coming to mirissa as it's very famous for whale watching. Indian Ocean off the mirissa harbor you can watch the whales in November to April season. After your breakfast at the hotel, we will then proceed to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri LankaColombo – is the business and commercial center and the new capital is Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte, which is only a few miles away. The remains of the buildings during the period and the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule are found in every area of the city. None of the Portuguese & Dutch fortifications are found today but some of their buildings and churches could be seen in the Fort & Pettah areas. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the old smith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Kaymans Gate with the Belfry at the original gate to enter the Fort, the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749, Kelaniya Buddhist Temple, Davatagaha Mosque. Also visit the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall), see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independe ce Square.
