In October 1989, thousands of islanders attended the mass celebrated by Pope John Paul when he made his first official visit to Mauritius. It's an open church.
Citadel Fort
Citadel Fort, also popularly referred to as Adelaide Fort, is located about 100 high on top of Petite Montagne hill. The fort is strategically located at a place where you can have a clear view of the harbor as well as the entire Port Louis City. This exceptional Fort was built by Colonel Cunningham in the 19th century with the intention of offering security to the British Army from potential invaders.
