Spanning nearly six acres, Underwater World is one of the most famous attractions on the island of Langkawi. At the southern end of Pantai Cenang next to the Zone Duty-Free Shopping Center, this is the largest aquarium in Malaysia. The white-washed giant formation houses more than 200 different species of marine and freshwater fish, including harbour seals, rockhopper penguins, sharks, giant rays and the giant Amazonian arapaima – the world's largest freshwater fish. Once you enter the A/C interior, Araipamas (the world's largest freshwater fish) can be seen in a medium-sized tank in front of the entrance. The complex is divided into three sections: tropical rainforest, temperate and sub-Antarctic. The sub-Antarctic was probably the most popular section - the 'Penguin-Arium' features cute little rockhoppers and black-footed penguins, which cause enough people to crowd around the exhibit to get a good look. Other highlights of the tourist-friendly Underwater World include an educational resource centre, a cafeteria, and a three-dimensional (3D) theatre – a short film about Michael, a small prehistoric fish and looking at his life before it became a fossil. Make sure. At the end is a huge walk-through six million litres underwater tunnel tank that houses a large number of fish including sharks, giant stingrays and green turtles.

Langkawi Wildlife Park and Bird Paradise is a unique sanctuary spread over five and a half acres of land which is just 10 km from Kuah. 


This tropical park in Langkawi has more than 150 species of animals and birds and you can also spot around 2500 exotic birds. Out of all these, more than 1500 birds are kept in a huge aviary where they fly freely in their man-made natural habitat. Each habitat is uniquely designed for each type of bird species.


Thousands of visitors come to 'The Paradise' to see tropical species brought to the park from all over the world. You will find the best species from Southeast Asia, Africa, South America, Australia, Russia and Malaysia. Apart from this, the park also has a man-made waterfall falling from a 15-meter high cliff. You can also visit the duty-free retail outlet and souvenir and crystal shop to take some memories back home.


Unlike other wildlife parks, this park also sells bags of animal feed that you can buy to feed the animals. Yes, you heard it right! You can enter animal cages and get a chance for close contact with animals and birds. And this is what makes Langkawi Wildlife Park and Bird Paradise different and worth visiting.
