The most popular & famous mountain crest in Darjeeling, Tiger Hill is known for its trekking routes and panoramic views of Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga.

It is 11km away from Darjeeling Town and above Ghum area. One needs to walk or drive through the oldest tea gardens to reach Tiger Hill. It is recommended to see the first rays of the sun on Mt. Everest. Don’t forget to capture it in your camera as it will be a wonderfully rich experience.

From Tiger Hill, Mount Everest (8848 m) is just visible. Kanchenjunga (8598 m) looks higher than Mt. Everest, owing to the curvature of the Earth, as it is several miles closer than Everest.

best time to visit : in the months of October, November and December in winter and February to April in autumn.

Peace Pagoda showing four incarnations of Lord Buddha is close to the temple. From the top of the pagoda, you get a panoramic view of the Darjeeling landscape including the Kanchenjunga range.

You will get amazing views from above the pagoda, and a Japanese temple just a short distance away. On a clear day, snow peaks are visible from here.

The foundation stone of the Peace Pagoda was laid on November 3, 1972 by Nichidatsu Fujii and it was subsequently opened in November 1, 1992.

Pease Pagoda white-coloured edifice is accentuated with gold painted sculptures, which are the highlight of the entire Pagoda.
