Laxman Jhula
Laxman Jhula is a famous hanging bridge across the Ganges river that connects Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district and Jonk in the Pauri Garhwal district. The entire bridge is made of iron, which is 450 feet long and is situated 70 feet above the river. It was openend for public in 1939. The Lakshman Jhula is quite famous among tourists as it is believed that Lord Rama's younger brother Lord Lakshman crossed the Ganges river at this place, where the bridge now stands for all to see.
The important places around the Laxman Jhula are the thirteen-floor temple, the Laxman Temple, and the Rama Jhula, and the entire area resonates with the sound of chants and shlokas enchanting the temples.
Ram Jhula
Ram Jhula is one of the most iconic places in Rishikesh and if you are planning a pilgrimage to the city, or just for a holiday, then you have to stop near this iconic bridge. It is a suspension bridge, made entirely of iron and the bridge is about 450 feet in length.
The bridge is situated on the sacred Ganges River and connects Swargashram in the west of Pauri Garhwal in the east, Shivanand Nagar in Muni ki Reti in Tehri Garhwal district in the west.
People can also go to the bridge by bike or bicycle. Many sacred ashrams and Hindu religious centres and temples can be found on the side of the bridge. These ashrams incorporate the true essence of Rishikesh with its peace, hospitality and purity.
One of the most memorable experiences one can enjoy is the Rama Jhula, which is surrounded by river and powerful mountains, overlooking the holy city of Rishikesh by the bridge itself.
Shri Bharat Mandir
