Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Chennai - Mahabalipuram (101 Kms)

    Greet and meet on arrival at Chennai, proceed to sight-seeing including - Marina Beach - The Marina Beach, the pride of Chennai is the second longest beach in the world and has a wide sandy shore. Situated on the beach, are the Samadhis or memorials dedicated to C.N.Annadurai and M.G.Ramachandran, both former Chief Ministers of the state., Kapleeswarar Temple - An 8th Century Pallava Temple. The temple ‘Gopuram’ or tower is made in the characteristic Dravidian style of architecture. Dedicated of Lord Shiva, this temple has some beautiful sculptures, among which the bronze idols of 63 Saivaite Saints or the Nayanmars. They adorn the outer courtyard. Also in the courtyard under the old Punnai tree is a small shrine depicting Goddess Parvathi in the form of a peacock, worshipping Lord Shiva. , Fort St. George- Fort st.George occupies pride of place and prominence in Chennai. This bastion derived its name form St. George, the patron saint of England., Santhome Cathedral Basilica, Vivekananda & MGR Memorial, Fort Museum, St. Thomas Mount, Ripon Building- This huge Indo-Saracenic building is named after Lord Ripon, who was the Governor General and the father of Self-Government in India, Snake Park, Light House , and later drive to Mahabalipuram, check-in and overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 2 :Mahabalipuram

    Mahabalipuram  -  Mahabalipuram (15 Kms)

    After breakfast proceed to sight-seeing including- The Shore temple, Crocodile Park, Five Rathas -hese rock-cut temples are rated as excellent examples of Pallava art. Shaped in different styles, the five structures are named after the Pandava brothers of the Mahabharatha and Draupadi. These are monolithic temples, each created in a different style. They are also known as the Pancha Pandava Rathas, and the four of the rathas are supposed to have been scooped out of a single rock formation. , and later return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

  • Day 3 :Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (144 Kms)

    After breakfast check out hotel and proceed to sight-seeing including- Arjunas Penance , Tigers Cave , Krishnas Butter Ball, Pondicherry Museum, French War Memorial, and later proceed to Pondicherry. Overnight stay at hotel.

    Pondicherry  -  Pondicherry (15 Kms)

    After breakfast proceed to sight-seeing including- Manakula Vinayagar Temple - Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple was in existence before the French came and settled in Pondicherry i.e. before 1666. According to Sasthra, Lord GANESHA is named in 16 types based on his various forms out which this god facing the east coast near Bay of Bengal it has been named as Bhuvaneshar Ganapathy, now called as Manakula Vinayagar, Botanical Garden in Pondicherry, and later return to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

    Pondicherry  -  Pondicherry (15 Kms )

    After breakfast check out hotel and proceed to sight-seeing including- Auroville, Sri Aurobindo Ashram - A spiritual community established at Pondicherry by Sri Aurobindo Ghosh on November 24th 1926. The ashram has since become one of the prime destinations for tourists and spiritual seekers. The chief aims and ideals of the ashrams are based on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and Mira Alfassa., Later return to hotel and Overnight at Hotel.

Often considered to be the pride of Chennai, Marina Beach, 13 km long , is that the second-longest beach of its kind within the world. A long stretch of sentimental sand, Marina Beach invites tourists to unwind, take a dip within the water and enjoys local snacks. The street facing the beach is lined with one illustrious landmark after another. These include Madras University, Government departments, Senate House, Presidency College, Cricket Stadium and Swami Vivekananda Memorial House and therefore the building of All India Radio. It is said that it had been the private favorite beach of ME Grant Duff, the erstwhile British Governor of Madras (1881-86). Sunrises and pony rides also can be enjoyed here.
The credit for converting this place into a tourist spot goes to Duff. He took the specified measures to vary the face of this place in 1880s. The historical monuments are built at the junction of pathways. These include Annadurai and MG Ramachandran memorials, statues of heroes from Tamil culture, Indo-Saracenic buildings, monuments of Tamil scholars, patriots and famous personalities including Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose. One of the foremost remarkable sculptures of the beach is that the Triumph of Labor by Debi prasad Roy Choudhary. On the beach, one can enjoy a spread of South Indian snacks and ice creams. There is also an aquarium situated near the beach. It is home to a number of the mesmerizing species of sea and water fish. One also can visit the Ice House, which has ice brought from lakes in North America during British rule. The best time to go to the beach is between November and February.

The Pancha Rathas are a gaggle of majestic structures present within the locality of Mahabalipuram within the state of Tamil Nadu . Constructed during the seventh century, by Raja Narasimhavarman of the Pallava dynasty, the work was left unfinished after the death of this king. The specialty of the structures is that they have each been carved from a single rock of granite into a ratha (chariot). Named after the five Pandava brothers and their wife, Draupadi, of the epic of Mahabharata, the structures are in no way related to the story and the name was born out of local usage. This beautiful work of art is a definite must visit and has been named a UNESCO Heritage Site for its architecture and design. These structures have stood strong throughout the ages and are a perfect representation of the dedicated work carried out at during the olden ages.
