- Day 1 :Madurai - Rameshwaram - (173 Kms, 3 Hrs 15 Minutes)Arrival at Madurai Airport/Railway station. You’ll meet our representative/Driver & transferred to Rameshwaram.Rameshwaram: It’s located in Pamban Island in Tamil Nadu. According to myths, the Indian King God, Ram built a floating bridge on the sea towards Sri Lanka from Rameshwaram to retrieve his wife Sita. It is a historical place that has connection with a lot of mythology and thus, it goes without saying that it is a pilgrimage place too. Rameshwaram, the place that is home to the temple of Ramanathaswamy Temple which is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. On arrival at Rameshwaram check into the hotel. Freshen up & visit Sri Ramanathaswamy TempleSri Ramanathaswamy Temple: This temple is dedicated to god Shiva and located on Rameswaram Island It is the location of the Char Dham pilgrimage.Just traveling to the temple is in itself a fulfilling experience because you have to cross a bridge from the mainland to reach this temple. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama built this bridge to rescue Sita from Ravana. Unlike other shorelines, the shorelines of this island are very quiet. Legend has it that the sea god promised Lord Rama he would stop the waves to help Lord Rama build the bridge. This is the best place for those who love stone carving. - Day 2 :RameshwaramToday Morning After breakfast, set out to visit the sightseeing places of Rameshwaram. Agnitheertham: This is a collection of 22 sandy shores where pilgrims can take bath. It is said that Lord Ram took bath in one of the shores to wash away the sins of killing Ravan in the battle.Gandamadana Parvatam: The Gandamadana Parvatam is a hill and is the highest spot in the island of Rameshwaram. On the Gandamadana Parvatam, there is a two-storeyed Mandapam.Dhanushkodi : It’s a vast stretch of silvery sand with crystal clear water and age old relics. It is one of the perfect places to spend some serene moments. The peaceful ambience of the place makes you enjoy and relax like never before. In-addition, the amazing view of sunrise and sunset would surely leave you mesmerized.Pamban Bridge: It was India’s first bridge to have been built over a sea; it’s the Pamban bridge of Rameshwaram.
